THE COURSE:

Choice of three distances; 50km, 100km or 100 mile (163km)

The ride will commence at 8 am on Saturday 4th May 2024 at the Imperial Hotel in Ravenswood, with the first 5 klm being “neutral” and will follow the Burdekin Dam Road with the 100 mile (163km) turn around adjacent the Caravan Park at the Dam. The 50 & 100 klm rides will traverse the same route with both turnarounds clearly marked at the 25 and 50 klm points.

The ride is over gently undulating terrain and riders will be required to safely negotiate 34 cattle grids over the course. The ride route will not be closed to traffic, with all road rules to apply. QPS will be patrolling the road throughout the ride to police behaviours.

Those riding the 100-mile (163km) Gran Fondo will be required to have completed the ride by 4 pm whilst those riding the two shorter course will need to be off the bike by 1 pm.

A compulsory rider briefing will commence at 7.30 am for all riders.

COST:

$195 per rider for 100 mile (163km)

$165 per rider for 100 km 

$85 per rider for 50 km

Early bird pricing discounts (15%) for those entered before 31st January 2024

 

Price includes a Polo Shirt, Stubby Cooler, BBQ Dinner at the Imperial Hotel on the Saturday evening, and a Bacon & Egg breakfast for those staying overnight on the Saturday. Additional tickets for the dinner can be purchased for $25-00 per person.

Whilst there is no specific prize money on offer, there will be random prize draws on completion of the ride. Riders will need to be in attendance at the Imperial Hotel to claim prizes. Redraw for all unclaimed prizes.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Cancellation Insurance can be purchased at registration for $10-00 per rider. This cancellation policy covers a full refund less $5-00 administration fee for each rider should the event be cancelled. Riders without valid cancellation insurance will not be eligible for a refund.

AGE LIMIT:

16 years.

RIDER SUPPORT:

Whilst the ride will be generally unsupported, riders will be able to top up water bottles at Aid Stations set up at intervals along the course. Toilets will be available prior to the ride commencing in the Ravenswood township and at the 100 klm turn around. Public toilets are available at the Burdekin Dam.

ACCOMMODATION:

Limited hotel accommodation is available at the Imperial Hotel on a first in basis. Cabins are available at the Top Camp Caravan Park along with camping sites. Parking adjacent to the Imperial Hotel for those who may wish to “swag it”. Other accommodation options are available…google will be your friend.

WAIVER:

All riders will be required to sign a waiver prior to commencing the ride. Riders are encouraged to make their own arrangement with regard to personal insurance.

 

 

MEDICAL COVERAGE:

Medical coverage will be provided by an Emergency Medical Doctor and Ambulance Service Paramedic who will be actively following the riders throughout the day. Additional services can be called if required.

IMPERIAL HOTEL & ENTERTAINMENT:

The Imperial Hotel Beer Garden will be utilised for the post ride entertainment and random prize draws. Local band Shots Fired will be providing music entertainment from approximately 6 pm.

A BBQ and salad dinner will be provided as part of the entry fee for all riders
